Earlier this year, my mentor and predecessor,
Takehisa(Kensho) Muramatsu known as Honke Horiyoshi, passed away.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the guidance
and support he bestowed upon me during his lifetime.

Carrying on the spirit of Honke Horiyoshi,
I adopted the name “Kensho II” from his given name rather than
“Honke Horiyoshi II,” and as his official successor,
I have inherited his skills and philosophy.

As I chose to succeed under the name “Kensho II,”
my predecessor later added “Kensho 1st” to his own title.

And on this occasion, after much reflection,
I have decided to continue under the name “Kenshō (建尚),”
not merely as “the second-generation successor,”
but standing on my own two feet, determined to elevate what I have inherited
and to lead the way on the path I choose for myself.

From now on, honoring my predecessor’s earnest wish
to uphold the spirit of HABOKU and building upon tradition,
I will strive to carve a new path in the world of Japanese tattooing.
